Recording has wrapped and the album master has been received, Yokum Drive Education is on it’s way to the public October 11th. I’m so excited to have my art out there for the world to hear, and the journey was more fun than I could have imagined.
First, I have to thank my producer, Daniel Ford aka Dr. Ford. His studio in Berry Hill was fantastic and I can’t wait to see what he’s building next as we continue to work together. His insight and direction, eclectic sensibility and knowledge of sounds was a perfect fit for what I am trying to create. It’s hard to peg down a genre when your influences are so wide-ranging. It’s also scary when you can’t necessarily hear anything that sounds like your music, which breeds self-doubt. Is this new and interesting? Is it nonsense, does being different mean it’s not good? What am I even doing? But then I hear my voice and my music coming out of studio monitors in a way that I have only previously heard in my head. It can only be described as wizardry.
Second, I have to also thank the extremely talented musicians on the track Chris Condon (Guitar) and Caleb Mundy (Bass). Their skill is what made this possible
